Lailani has a thin, lithe, body with small breasts. She has dark tanned skin with gold eyes. She has black hair and the only makeup she wears is gold eyeshadow.
In her default outfit, called "Island Girl" and "Beach Sarong", Lailani wears a purple Hawaiian sarong wrap dress with yellow/orange flowers on it. Her long hair is left down with a Flower tucked by her left ear.

Lailani is a shy and quiet person. She almost never raises her voice, except at the Player when they make her upset on a date. She is extremely embarrassed when she is asked sexual questions by the Player, or vice versa. In her job as a hotel clerk, she seems devoted to ensuring their stay is comfortable. Lailani is extremely self-conscious about her body and does not think she is beautiful.

Baggage is a feature exclusive to HuniePop 2 that equips all 12 dateable girls with a set of three unique traits that are unlocked during conversation and pose additional challenge during dates.

Lailani's early life and family remain unknown, but it is revealed she had a long-distance relationship that didn't work out, as her partner cheated on her. This act alone took a toll on Lailani's self-esteem, as well as wanting to just be old-fashioned about dating and relationships (preferred to be with her partner in-person).

Jessie[]
Jessie shows to have interest in Lailani, having a liking for Lailani's rather cute and innocent appearance and attitude. In return, Lailani is very kind to Jessie, seemingly admiring her experience with life.
Sarah[]
Lailani is admired by Sarah; Sarah gets excited when meeting her, thinking Lailani is a Japanese girl. Lailani tries to clarify that she isn't Japanese, but her quiet personality and Sarah's bombastic behavior prevent her from doing that. Though they grow close after dating, Lailani still seems to think Sarah is annoying, though she never outright says it.
Candace[]
When the two first meet, Candace offers dance lessons to Lailani. At first, Lailani seems to find Candace's behavior off-putting. After their first date, however, Lailani admits to admire Candace's confidence. To this Candace responds that Lailani should feel more comfortable in her skin, and offers to help her raise her confidence.

- Despite being in the "Asian" category in HunieCam, Lailani is a Pacific Islander, which is a separate racial category from Asian.
- This was corrected in HuniePop 2.
- She is the second girl to have an outfit named "Native Chic". The other is Beli.
- Even though she never drinks, the artwork shows that she's holding a cocktail glass.
- Lailani is the only character in the sequel who never swears.
- At "A", Lailani and Zoey have the smallest cup size of all the human girls in HuniePop 2: Double Date.
